Are you REALLY committed to what you want?

Have you ever felt sorry for yourself when despite all your ‘best efforts’ you are not manifesting what you want in your life. But how committed are you really ? Could you say such as :

‘I have burned my bridges with the past and am moving on’

‘All my resources are committed ….I am in this for the long haul’

‘I devote all my time and energy to my new passion’

‘I will succeed despite all difficulties and I take setbacks in my stride’

Uummm….quite a testing standard isn’t it ! Of course, you need to keep the rest of your life in balance while focusing on you ‘passion’.

However, if you believe the 19th century German philosopher Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe a whole new world of opportunities opens up when you commit wholeheartedly. It is also clear that he believed that progress will be slow without this level of commitment:

” Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative and creation, there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans : that is the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. BEGIN IT NOW. ”
